Welcome to Lovelace Primary School

Lovelace Primary School opened in 1951 and we have been educating children in the localities of Hook and Chessington for over seventy years.

Our children are the key to the success of our school. We aim to ensure they are motivated by learning and offered the best opportunities that we can provide. Our focus on 'Learning Together, Succeeding Forever' pervades all we do and ensures that children grow to become, smarter, healthier and happier.

We hope that they will be respectful and well-behaved individuals, who develop high self-esteem and independence. Our children are expected to work hard and achieve their very best. Ofsted agree with this view saying: 'Pupils have good social skills. They participate enthusiastically in activities and are confident, articulate speakers. Always respectful and courteous to each other, they learn well together.'

I attended an Open day in November and was amazed at the massive 8.5 acres; the swimming pool; the sheer size of the playing field and an amphitheatre - and the warmth of the welcome inside . I can understand why the school is called a hidden gem!

Pupils like coming to this school. They have kind friends to play with. Staff take the time to check how pupils are feeling. Pupils are confident that if they have a worry, they can speak to an adult who will help them. This helps pupils feel happy and valued. OFSTED 2024
