Welcome to Lovelace Primary School!

Welcome, and thank you for your interest in our school – we are glad you are here!

For over 75 years, Lovelace School has been at the heart of our local community in Hook and Chessington, guiding our families on an exciting journey that we call the ‘Lovelace Way’.

I joined the Lovelace community in 2024, and as Headteacher I have been so proud to be a part of our next chapter and journey.

Our school motto, ‘Learning Together, Succeeding Forever’, shapes everything we do. We want our children to love learning, strive for their best, and grow into happy, confident, and respectful individuals. As Ofsted highlighted in 2024, our pupils love coming to school—they feel valued, cared for, and supported by a team that truly puts our children and families at the center of everything that we do.

Whilst we are a thriving three-form entry school, we’ve held onto what matters most: a warm, family feel where every single child is known, where every child feels safe, and every child is encouraged to thrive. Our wonderful staff bring both high expectations and genuine warmth inside and outside the classroom every day.

We are incredibly lucky that our school is nestled in a vast, leafy site on the edge of the greenbelt that makes learning outdoors a huge part of life at Lovelace. From our enclosed swimming pool, wildlife area, outdoor amphitheatre, allotments, large sports field and Forest School areas to the beloved 'Dolly Lee Lodge' (our wonderful library base) and our dedicated specialist spaces like the cookery room and art studio— there is always something to explore!

Alongside a strong focus on reading, writing, and maths, we offer a rich, varied curriculum designed to spark curiosity and build character. We also encourage our children to take pride in their local community and understand the positive role they can play in the world around them.

Choosing the right school is a big step, and we’d love to show you what makes Lovelace so special. If you have any questions or would like to arrange a visit, please get in touch by phone or email, or drop by the office.

We look forward to giving you and your family a very warm welcome!
