Learning Together, Succeeding Forever

Welcome to Lovelace Primary School

Lovelace Primary School opened in 1951 and we have been educating children in the localities of Hook and Chessington for over seventy years.

Lovelace School is a popular 3 form entry school nestled in the heart of Chessington. At Lovelace we pride ourselves on our nurturing, family feel and we are often described as a ‘hidden gem’ by our community.

We pride ourselves on our ambitious curriculum which is designed to excite and engage our children and build understanding in all areas of their learning. Every child is celebrated here.

Our vision for our children is to be ‘Learning Together, Succeeding Forever’, this weaves through everything that we do here at Lovelace. We strive to ensure that every child feels valued, celebrated and confident so that they are prepared for the next stage of their education and their futures in an ever evolving world.

SOME KIND WORDS

Some Kind Words
I attended an Open day in November and was amazed at the massive 8.5 acres; the swimming pool; the sheer size of the playing field and an amphitheatre - and the warmth of the welcome inside . I can understand why the school is called a hidden gem!
Pupils like coming to this school. They have kind friends to play with. Staff take the time to check how pupils are feeling. Pupils are confident that if they have a worry, they can speak to an adult who will help them. This helps pupils feel happy and valued.   OFSTED 2024
In the early years, children behave extremely well. Staff have high expectations of these children, which they rise to.     OFSTED 2024
Pupils are taught how to manage their feelings, which starts from the early years. This helps to ensure that pupils are prepared well for life in modern society.     OFSTED 2024

Tour feedback:

'Thank you so much to your headteacher for showing us around your wonderful school today, we are sorry that we were unable to make one of the bookable tours. We appreciated her making time to see us! Lovelace is a beautiful school,  we were so surprised by the huge grounds that you have as well as the allotments and swimming pool. We really enjoyed seeing the children learning in their lessons, they were so well behaved, there was a lovely buzz around the school. we are looking forward to hopefully joining the Lovelace community in September.'     October 2025

'My wife and I wanted to say thank you for the fantastic tour today. We really enjoyed hearing from the head and deputy head pupils, they spoke so clearly and confidently about their time at Lovelace. We also enjoyed talking to them as we walked around on the tour. They were a credit to your school!'   October 2025

'I just wanted to email to thank you for the warm welcome that we received on the tour of your school today. We were impressed with Miss Dixon's presentation where her experience as a headteacher was really clear as was her genuine passion for building a Lovelace for the future. Her understanding and experience of children with additional needs really shone through. Thank you.'   November 2025
