School Streets

School streets prioritise pedestrians and cyclists on roads outside schools at school start and finish times. They are seen as a positive step towards safer, calmer and more healthy local areas and make it easier and safer to walk, cycle and scoot to school.

The School Streets scheme for Lovelace Primary School applies to both Mansfield Road and Devon Way, Beverley Close, Newlands Way and part of Stormont Way (up to the road closure). It operates as a restricted pedestrian and cycle only zone, Monday – Friday between 8.15am-9.15am and 2.30pm-3.30pm during school term times only (i.e you will get a fixed penalty from Kingston if driving into zone in these times).

The School Streets Scheme encourages people to park away from the school to encourage more walking, scootering and cycling.
